How to make the chocolate biscuit cake.
Break the biscuits(25-30)into a large bowl.
Add chocolate(1 cup or 225g), butter(1 and 1/2 sticks) condensed milk(390g) into a pan and gradually increase the heat to low-medium.
Stir and melt the chocolate and combine all the ingredients.
Cook between 3-5 minutes until the condensed milk gets slightly thicker than it was.
Pour the chocolate-condensed milk mixture over the biscuits and stir until combined.
Pour the biscuit and condensed milk mixture into the baking tin and press down.
Refrigerate the chocolate biscuit cake for 6-7 hours or until it sets.
Once the no-bake cake is set, remove the pan from the fridge, remove the biscuit cake as it is and peel off the foil.
Or flip it over for a better presentation.
Cut into smaller bite-size pieces and serve.
Make sure to store the extra chocolate biscuit cake slices in the refrigerator, I find they taste better when slightly chilled.

I have tried making this cake but it refuses to set in the fridge, the only difference I can see is I mixed the ingredients in a bowl over boiling water and I used margarine instead of butter, any ideas?
Thanks

Hi Anthony, Thank you for trying out the recipe although I'm disappointed the biscuit cake didn't set for you. There can only be two reasons. 1/ It's not the butter but you might have not cooked the condensed milk-chocolate-butter mixture enough so that it reaches a very thick consistency before adding the biscuits. 2/not enough biscuits to absorb any extra liquid and give the no-bake cake mixture, added thickness to help stable the cake when it's chilled.
hope this helps. Regards J
