You can serve the beans and mushroom stir-fry in 15 minutes as a side dish.

So grab a frying pan and let’s get to making this quick green bean and mushroom recipe.

Mushroom and beans are a great combination for a stir-fry.

These two ingredients are so versatile, I think they need to be cooked and enjoyed as much as possible.

And since both the main ingredients cook for under 20 minutes, you can have this vegetarian side dish for a quick meal.

  • Substitute for hoisin sauce to make the mushroom stir fry.
    • I have two options for you.
    • But if you taste and find that something is missing to give the dish much-needed flavour then substitute Hoisin sauce with 1 tablespoon of Soy sauce and 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, mix and use as mentioned in the recipe instructions.
  • Can I substitute Oyster mushrooms with Button mushrooms?
    • The reason I chose Oyster mushrooms is when you sauté them, the slightly brown edges and bite help to add a different texture to the dish.
    • I am not sure Button Mushroom does it but if you don’t have a substitute then why not try them out?
    • Make sure to let me know how it goes with the substitute.

Refrigerate and consume within 2 days.

Avoid freezing.

Cover with a microwavable lid and micro for 2 minutes or warm over a stovetop.

Or make a quick meal with rice or a wrap as directed above.

The ingredients mentioned below use standard measuring cups and spoons.

250g of oyster mushrooms(substitute with of button mushrooms)

250g of green beans(can substitute with frozen beans)

4 tablespoons of oil

4 sliced garlic cloves

1/2 to 1 teaspoon of Hoisin sauce

2 tablespoons of water

1/2 teaspoon of pepper powder

Salt to season

Please make sure to read the recipe at least once to avoid mistakes.

Shred the oyster mushrooms into the required size and set them aside(avoid washing them).

Wash, trim the beans(250g) and cut them into equal size then, cut these individual beans in half so the seeds are exposed.

Place a skillet over low-medium heat and pour a tablespoon of oil.

Let the oil heat, then add the shredded oyster mushrooms to the pan.

Season with salt and sauté the oyster mushroom over medium-high heat until the edges of the Mushroom turn brown and slightly crispy for 3-5 minutes.

Once they turn brown, transfer them into a separate bowl, and place the same pan over low-medium heat.

Pour two tablespoons of oil, heat, then add slivers of garlic(4 cloves sliced) and sauté for 2-3 minutes over low-medium heat.

Mix the Hoisin sauce(1/2-1 tsp) with water2 tbsps)and pour over the sautéed garlic.

Followed by beans then pepper(1/2 tsp).

Season with salt if necessary(make sure to add less as the sauce is also salty).

Once the water is completely reduced and the beans are cooked, add crispy Mushrooms.

Mix and cook both ingredients over very low heat for 2-3 minutes. taste and season with salt if necessary.

Serve warm, you can try the two meal ideas given above with this bean mushroom bean stir-fry.
